The Court
The playing area of the padel court is 20×10 meters wide. Each half of the court is a perfect square of 10×10 metres. All lines on the court are five centimeters wide. The net at the center line of the court is 10 meters long, with a center height of 88 centimeters and an end height of 92 centimeters.
Courts are typically constructed from a combination of Plexiglas (or solid concrete) walls and wire mesh. The back wall of the court should always be perspex glass and three meters high. These walls are then covered with 1m of wire mesh. The side walls are partly made of organic glass and partly made of wire mesh, and should also be three meters high.
There are two gates at each end of the net on one side of the court, and they remain open during play as the Padel Rules allow you to score outside the court. The court surface can be concrete or artificial turf, or carpet. Currently, the standard configuration used by ArtPadel is 12mm artificial turf. Of course, considering the safety of players, ArtPadel has upgraded the tennis posts to minimize the collision and impact of the tennis posts on players. In addition, ArtPadel supports customized net post protective covers.
The Racket
There is no long hand-strung racket in padel tennis like in tennis. As a result, the padel racket looks very different. It has a short handle and a foam core, and the outer shell can be anything from fiberglass to carbon fiber to graphene. Every player needs to find a racket that suits them. Different materials will cause differences in feel. The length of a padel racket must not exceed 45.5 centimeters, which is 26 centimeters, and its thickness must not exceed 38 millimeters.
One of the peculiarities of padel rackets is that they have holes all over their body. These holes exist to reduce the weight of the racket. Rackets are also classified by type: diamond (more power), teardrop (control and power), and round (more control).
The Ball
A padel ball looks very similar to a standard tennis ball, but has a smaller diameter and less pressure.
The International Tennis Federation (FIP) stipulates that the ball must be made of yellow or white rubber, have a diameter between 6.32 and 6.77 cm, and must weigh between 56 and 59 grams. The internal pressure of the ball must be between 4.6 and 5.2 kg. Wool content is also an important consideration for customers.
